I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Noah Armstrong was a family handsome and successful movie star. Lauren taught a few classes at the junior college and helped with her parents Big Cat Sanctuary in New York. Noah showed up on day at the sanctuary with his grandmother requesting a tour. His grandmother had worked with lions in Africa and was no struggling with Alzheimers. Noah hoped this visit would bring some joy into her life. Little did he know that from the moment he saw Lauren, that joy might become a part of his life, too.This story was a clean romance with no sex or foul language, just a beautiful romantic story about true love. Noah was a good person mostly untainted by the celebrity status he possessed. Lauren was a down to earth girl and Noah loved the goodness he saw in her. The more he got to know her, the more he wanted to spend forever with her.I was given a complimentary copy of this book and I gladly offer a review.

I received an ARC of this book. It is book 2 in a series and can be read as a stand alone. I did read book 1 first and I enjoyed it so much. I loved this book as well and now eagerly await book 3 Paisley's story. I have read all of Emma Kingsley's books and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. This is probably the most powerful book baal has ever written and he knows this to be fact ,so powerful he did not include the wealth mantras that would make a person rich,although this book is mostly about lovers,husband ,wifes,and other people to get what you want ,it is still a very powerful book and highly recommended ..I would recommend these mantras to any love spell ever given for I feel these are by far more powerful but I feel something is missing here ,i know the beads are very important in mantra chanting however I have read a picture of the om in Sanskrit or the original text in Sanskrit are used in the temples for maximum energy power....I would recommend the reader to use these powerful mantras but also do a LITTLE research online and incorporating the extra steps he learns into the changing ,also as baal repeats at the end of his book 108 times a day is the preferred method until you have reached upwards to 10000 although there are instances I have read by another author and yes baal does repeat this also where a person has repeated a mantra over 10000 times in one sitting and he did achieve siddhi and he was done but the same person repeat another mantra only 108 times and does this one 108 times in a daily basis at 4am when he rises.....So I do commend baal in writing this book and even giving you the extra secrets that he gives at the end and these secrets are a key to these mantras so use them ....As he mentions these mantras are hard to come by and he is exactly right that at his writing there was only one other book that mentions them and still maybe only a few after this writing so this alone makes this book highly profitable to any persons library!!!!

Baal Kadmon presents a refreshing approach to magick. After this one, I am hooked. I have most his books now and have had great results with his workings. No BS, just what is needed. Don't be put off by the simplicity.

The mantras are VERY powerful. Some happen within hours.Wish there's more in-depth explanation. Book looks rushed, misspelled and have many typos.Some mantras don't even indicate how many times it is to be chanted.

I love this book of Vashikaran Mantra. It's really powerful. I tried the mantra to control someone and it worked! I chanted the mantra the whole day and seen a slight result, so I decided to recite another whole day and it got stronger. So I did another day which in total 3 days in a row! It worked!

I have to say this is a very quick read. Explains some things about mantras and how to use them. I would purchase the ebook and save on the cost.

Nice booklet and learning something new putting it to the test will add to review once outcome happens

Great guide for joining gyms and/or hiring a trainer

This book is helpful and well written. I knew of the author's background in fitness and felt comfortable that this information would be current and accurate. I purchased the book to help me in deciding what to look for in a personal trainer. I am armed now with what I need, to ask questions, and what to look for in this important decision. Being over 50 and overweight with knee and hip issues I needed to find the right fit for me. This book really steered me in the right direction. I need to get on a exercise program I can live with and a trainer who understands that. This book helped with what to look for. It also confirmed and reinforced in doing things correctly and finding the right program or trainer for me. It was eye opening, refreshing and informative, if you are over 50 and lost and in need of a fitness regime-- this will give you direction you can count on. I wish the author would have spent more time in the strength chapter, otherwise, very helpful. 4 stars.

I found this book to be very informative. I have exercised off and on all my life, consider myself to be pretty active. I have belonged to gyms all my adult life, and have been doing pretty much the same workout routine for the past several years. Although I feel pretty fit, I am certainly not fit enough, and I believe now that it's because of my workouts. I need to switch it up, and this book has helped me realize this. The author does a great job combining her knowledge of fitness with her knowledge of healthy eating habits. I am approaching my sixties and this will help me move into the next decade with my workout routine. I highly recommend this to anyone over 50 wanting to remain actively fit, getting fit, or continuing with their current fitness program.

This book was a bit of a shock. I have hired personal trainers before and they didn't relay the same content here. I'll be much more careful next time. Based on the research included in the book I don't think I had the best exercise program for my goals and am not surprised I wasn't inspired to continue. Some of the videos in the back section of book are for much older and less fit people than the chapters in the book but overall good read. I'd have paid more for a trainer who gave the kind of service included here.

So I have been fairly lucky and been coasting for a LONG time in my "sometimes workouts" and with no coach since I didn't want to risk paying someone who didn't know how to deal with my back and neck problems. Had no idea how to find the right person.This book has great info to steer that as well as all he other fitness decisions and plans. I am at that brink of losing ability to function in so many actvities if I procrastinate any longer. I am ready to find a fitness professional and movements and actvities that will help me enjoy this phase of my life. Huge amount of info, well-written particularly for us with Boomer minds & bodies. To her Chinese friends, she is not a “real” Chinese. To her American and European friends, she is not a “real” American. She takes a journey through Asia, hoping to solidify her personal identification, but finds that it only further complicates it. In Taipei, Taiwan, she shuns her mother from buying the trendy white cotton masks in order to fit in with the Taiwanese. For, to do so would compromise her true self and quite literally, mask their identity. Rekdal covers her mouth around the Chinese women, too embarrassed to admit her lack of knowledge in speaking Chinese. Even with those who look the most like her, she comes to the realization that “we do not live here. We are only visitors.”In her poetic and charmingly sarcastic way, she grapples with what it means to belong, with what it means to “fit in.” She must find her place even though every “place” rejects her. Her words, each chapter could be a lyrical poem, capture the reader’s attention and emotion. Rekdal brings them on a journey of identity crisis and, as beautifully and swaying as her form and diction, shows them the sometimes turbulent, but remarkable process in finding one’s self. Her hurt, pain, joy, happiness, confusion, frustration, love, and finally recognition and acceptance bleed through the pages and into the readers’ heart. Rekdal’s The Night My Mother Met Bruce Lee, in today’s political and social climate of deciding who and who doesn’t belong, is a very pertinent masterpiece.

Well, you have BOTH Ha Jin AND Arthur Golden praising it on the back cover--what can you expect? (I like one and not the other). While the cover made me think that this was going to be a "wacky," irreverent account by a young, half-Chinese woman, the book is instead an extremely well-written, thought-provoking colletion of essays. Rekdal is a poet, and it shows in her evocative descriptions, in her lyrical passages, in an effortlessly beautiful line. Rekdal pulls it off without being narcisstic or excessively introspective; the book succeeds brilliantly. Though the essay's topics are somewhat disjointed--they go from America to Korea to China to childhood, etc--the disconnected structure seems to be part of the point: as the subtitle suggests, these are "observations on not fitting in." I liked her juxtaposition of the uncanny, the frustrating, the disappointing things along with the beautiful, the personal, the "mini-epiphanic" aspects.And yes, she is also very witty. The humor is very sharp. I found myself laughing hysterically at an Elvis reference and I normally don't find him amusing. Finally, as someone who also spent a year in a small city in Korea, I was delighted that she related experiences that I shared myself when I taught high school students in South Korea.

There are always stereotypes to be stripped down, aren't there?Rekdal's themes (race, how Americans are perceived overseas, how Americans perceive each other) make you think, but her writing won't make you struggle. Her essays, built around episodes of her life, are sad, funny, entertaining and insightful.An excellent book. Highly recommended. I wish I could teach a course called "Race in America" just so I could get more people to read this book.

This highly original book is refreshing for its insights into a topic that has been discussed inumerable times in the news media. Ms Rekdal reflects upon mother/daughter relationships, racial and sociological problems, all without preachiness.

Ms. Rekdal's numerous observations are personal and touching. Many Americans have struggled with an identity crisis. I understand fully the crushing power of long and brutal silences mentioned in the text. I am so glad that Ms. Rekdal is not silent at all.

I own the 4th edition, copyright 2011, and bought this updated one when I saw it on Amazon.This edition is 195 pages; the 4th edition is 238 pages. There is no description of the changes in the book (to save space no doubt) but it appears the smaller page count has two causes. On is that certain obscure CSS3 properties are no longer listed. For example, the 4th edition has an 'Aural Media' section that includes elements such as 'voice-family' and 'cue'. Those are gone from this edition, presumably because the W3C has deprecated those functions. The second reason is because there is less white space in general in this edition, and that's actually a good thing. I found the 4th edition harder to parse because the listing of property values was spaced out on different lines and a simple horizontal rule separated the property descriptions. In this edition the properties are more clearly delineated with a double bold border around each property, and the property descriptions are laid out in left-right columns that are easier to scan. The selectors and queries section received the same reformatting. The introductory Basic Concepts and Values chapters are still present with little change other than for being updated for 2018. Another nice thing about the 5th edition is that the header for every property contains two flags indicating whether the property is inheritable and can be animated.In general, CSS3 was relatively new in 2011 and that edition contained a lot of 'not yet supported' and ' tentative' comments in the descriptions. In 2018 CSS3 is a lot less rough around the edges, and this edition has been pruned and parsed as necessary to bring it more in line with the CSS3 state-of-the-art in 2018. That, along with it's much better formatting, makes it a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

This book is great for quick references. I've been coding CSS for years, but I still need a quick reference here and there. This pocket reference is perfect for those scenarios. It contains enough information to get a beginner up and running quickly with a little additional research. The basic concepts are in the beginning. The book is full of selectors and properties with explanations on their use (in alphabetic order). The explanations are very helpful and the examples are clear.I highly recommend this book. Its quick and useful to have on hand... and won't break the bank.

I am a hobby CSS programmer with a background in BASIC, HTML and UNIX shell scripting. I do not have the patience to read a programming manual so reference manuals work very well for me. The CSS Pocket Reference has what I wanted in a concise format. However, it also has some errors. Page 10, paragraph 3 misspelled "however" as "howerver". The reference information in Chapter 4, page 171 for "table-layout" gives 2 incorrect examples that say "table-display". So far as I can tell there is no such CSS property as "table-display". On page 74, I was pleasantly surprised to see the author properly identify the octothorpe instead of calling it a hash symbol or number symbol or pound symbol. There is a lot of information in this book that I still do not understand and likely will never use but it has helped me improve my CSS coding.

I am completely comfortable with CSS, but there are plenty of selectors and properties that I don't use all the time, so I forget the possible values for the properties, or I forget if the property has "text" or "font" in the name, or something like that. This pocket reference appears to be complete, and it's easy to use and keep at hand and get around in because it's physically so small and doesn't include a lot of discursive explanation. It does include enough explanation to know what each CSS property does. Since I got it, I pretty much never look in my many larger CSS books.

I bought 5 of the Dick and Jane books for my 2 grandsons (ages 2&3) for Christmas.I think the simpleness of the books are what draws the children. They can identify with the kids and what they do for fun. We are reading them to the children right now but, it won't be long until they are on their own. The books came before the estimated time of delivery and in perfect condition. I have ordered quite a few items from amazon.com in the last year or so. I always compare prices. For what I buy, amazon is usually pretty good as far as price. But you MUST compare first. Just because it's from amazon doesn't mean it is the cheapest, I have learned. The free shipping on certain products is great but some of the items I wish to order are not eligible.

These type books were the first to come to mind when I thought of teaching my 5 year old to read. It's full of sight words and he enjoys being a big boy and reading to mommy and daddy. Only give it 4 stars because the pictures are still dated and I wish the little boy was named Pete or something other than Dick.

Great for sight words for young children...you just have to keep reading this to them, ask them to tell about the picture, what do they think is going to happen....just encourage conversation... and point to the words when you read. Eventually the words will become familiar.

I love these Dick and Jane Books. I bought them for my God-Granddaughter. I studied from them when I was in the 1st grade and I'm 62 years ol!

This was a great book... granddaughter was already reading some and had flash cards and harder books...this was a delightful book for her, she was so please with herself... the reward of being able to read most of it with very little help...and still every day...she wants to read one of several Dick and Jane books.... love them....

I got this book to show my grandchildren what books were like when I was a child. It was nostalgic for me & interesting for them!

I learned to read as a child with these books, and comparing it to reading material being given to my Kindergarten grandson from his school, I believe these old Dick and Jane books are STILL the best by far!

I actually had the Dick and Jane books as a child which had a big part in teaching me how to read. I purchased this book for my great granddaughter as she's starting to learn word recognition. This is the perfect book to get a Pre K started in learning how to read.
